It's Arts Trail time!

The Arts Trail is on all weekend. The sign is up and the balloons are hung. People are stopping and wandering in, it's great fun!

I am loving the balloons hanging from the trees, it kind of feels like a Hansel and Gretal thing but with exciting art at the end of the breadcrumbs!

Meeting lots of lovely people. I can see I'm not going to get any housework done this weekend!

Something to brighten up a corner in winter

A wee Raggedy Daisy cushion, and it has a slip pocket to hide my chocolate in!!
What more could a girl want?

It would make a great one day class.....

Let me know if you're interested!

Have a fun weekend

I got a little side tracked today...

Today I've not done any stitching! It was my intention to spend the whole day sewing. But I was tidying up and, well you know how it goes, I got side tracked! I did have some fun though!

A two day class at Quilt Symposium

This is a two day class I'm teaching at Quilt Symposium at Palmerston North in January 2015. I can't wait to get my students in class and get them creating madness and mess! HA! We are going to have such fun!

Well the class is finished and the girls had a fun day. We had a lovely day and a few laughs too. (Plus cake and chocolate which was necessary to keep the energy levels up!) They made some gorgeous embellishments too!

Helping on the KC booth at the show

Here's Trish and I and we are celebrating everything Irish this weekend at the quilt show in the Coach House Museum in Feilding. Our booth is looking pretty darn good too.

There's lots of lovely fabric and beautiful quilts everywhere.

There's also lots of very old farming machinery.

And there's even a touch of gold here and there, but you'll have to be quick!

quilt is finished and gets an airing this weekend

Gee, I took this a few evenings ago, the colour isn't quite true, but it will be on display at the Kowhai Quilters Show in Feilding this weekend. I will be teaching it in June as a quilt in a night class. I'll try and remember to get a photo on the weekend for you :)

Lovely article in the Palmerston North paper!

I was very nervous yesterday as I waited for the daily paper to come out. Last week I was interviewed for the Home and Garden supplement.

The photo was taken under the kowhai trees on our property and it was about 6 in the evening and it was 29 degrees! Hopefully you can enlarge the article enough to be able to read it.

Today at work I had several people come up to me and tell me how nice they thought the article was which made me smile.

And yes, I do think of mistakes as adventures, traditional quilting can get stressful, especially if you have to keep unpicking!

Enjoy the rest of your week!

Class runs from 9.30 to 4pm cost is $50 per person and space is limited.

The trees are alive with the sound of......

The trees are full of circadas at the moment. I don't mind them, it's great so see so much life around. And it's a sign of summer! The noise however is incredible and they are not restricted to the trees, no they sit on the outside of the window mesh and come down the chimney, which is just silly as the dog lies in wait and eats them!

When there's no mess, there's madness!
