to sash or not to sash...that is the question

What do you think?

I have some leftover fabrics and am wondering if I should add a sashing?
Mostly pink, with some slashes of greens and browns. Or is it enough as is?

What do you think?

What do you think Buddy??

sidetracked by fabric...like that's never happened before!

I had a couple of days off and I decided to work on one of my unfinished projects.
I had all the pieces cut, so just had to put them together, trim each block to size and sew the blocks together. I decided to work outside my comfort zone with this quilt top, using bright pinks and greens and brown.
The pattern is a store bought one and quite contemporary for me. It was lots of fun to lay the blocks out ready for stitching together, and at the end of the day it was all put together. It doesn't have a sashing, but I've got a few scraps of fabric left so I'm going to add one using the scraps.
Of course I should have been working on the next class sample for 2015 Symposium, but I've made a start, and it's looking very exciting so far...
I'll keep you posted!
Have a great day - Carole x

a fleeting post....

Well what do you think?
Those of you who follow me on Facebook will know that Wednesday was my birthday, so I decided to treat myself to a new hair style. A fringe, or bangs as they are called in the States.  And of course anyone knowing me will know that by now it doesn't look anything this this now!! Hahahaha! However, if I 'apply' myself, I may be able to recreate it!

Meanwhile we have this little cleared area in amongst the trees and at the moment it's covered in the while flowers of the onion plant. They are a weed, but they look so pretty!

Hope you're having a lovely week,

Two more blocks semi finished

Hi!
I can't believe that almost a whole month has passed since I last posted!
There has been a lot happening.
First off another two blocks have been made to go with this http://www.kiwicarole.blogspot.co.nz/2013/08/not-sure-where-this-is-going-but.html
These blocks need lots of embellishing, but I'll get them pieced first. I don't have a pattern for these, I'm just putting them together as I go.
I also helped out on the Krazy Cow Quilt Store's booth at the Town and Country Quilter's Quilt Fest.
We had a great day with a booth full of pre-cut Moda fabric!

My MIL has also been ill and has been in critical care for three weeks. Things don't look good. We are preparing ourselves.

I'll try and get some more blog posts up for you over the next few days.
I hope you're all keeping well,
Carole x
