No Fly Zone

It's almost classified as a danger zone!! lol My creative corner of the house, or in other words, my daughter's old bedroom. I love looking at others creative zones, and thought I'd share mine. It might be the motivation I need to get my backside in there and tidy it! (although it wouldn't look as interesting I'm sure!)

At the moment I am ploughing thru Earnest Hemingway, DH Lawrence, Thomas Pynchon and EM Forster, very dry and dull. I will have to write essays on them.

I'd sooner be reading Cloth Paper Scissors, and Sew Somerset! Oh and if anyone knows of somewhere that sells 2nd hand copies of any of the Stampington issues let me know!

Does your creative zone look any tidier than this? Post a pic on your blog and comment on mine, so we can all go and look.
I'd like to visit and see who has the messiest!! I reckon I'll win hands down!

Carole :)

Hey missy it looks pretty organised to me. What a boring life it would be if creativity was all neat and tidy.

I think it looks like a space where someone is having a great time making things. It is hard to keep it organized and orderly- especially when you pull things to use or add new fabrics -
Happy creating,

Anna

My creative zone is no tidier than yours, Carole, but then it is a lot smaller! I'm so envious of you having all that lovely space to play in!

Hey Carole, I've just decided to make the lounge my sewing room and visa versa. Just need to find a couple of blokes to move the heavy stuff. Decided I don't have visitors very often so why not use the bigger room where I can sew and watch tv!!!! Haha .it'll still be messy though...

I have no Zone of my own ! I have taken the cupboard under the kitchen sink & use the kitchen table & have to clear away every time !
We have an office which one day....one day... I shall have my area but it's dark in there & bright in my kitchen !
I really want to put in a huge window in the office as the view is acros farmers' fields with the Isle of Wight in the distance ...trouble would be then - I'd sit gazing at the view all day !

I bet mine is messier than your's! I stare at a half plastered wall (done 2 years ago)/half painted wall. The room badly needs decorating. Our built in wall units have had the doors taken off because they had warped so much, so we have "open plan storage" and I have to share the room with my hubby. We therefore have one half each and his is full of old computer towers, terminals and keyboards (IT consultant) and mine is full of all sorts of craft stuff.

I don't have any recent photos but might be able to dig up an old one of his half. It's a complete mess and we don't know where to start with re-decoration!!!

At least you know where everything is and that is the main thing!

I always feel so much better about my own cluttery workspace when I see that others have the same kind of space I do! Thanks for sharing - I'd post a pic, but I don't need more recorded evidence!

Okay, show us the rest of the room ! Was the other part to messy to show? I don't see a single spot for layout. Does that happen on the floor ... or is there another room altogether. I'd post on mine, but amazingly enough, it's in good orderely condition at the moment.

You can access your sewing machine. I can't get to mine! haha!

I'm not showing mine right now either! I just throw stuff on the floor and walk away. Face it... creativity breeds a mess!

Wonderful photos!!! I like how you just put it right out there. Looks like organized chaos- I bet your know where everything is. I'd show you a picture of mine- but I just spent the last two weeks cleaning up. Maybe in another 6 months it will look like a "real" studio! LOL!

blimey, my creative zone would fit in your pocket when I compare it to yours, aren't you the lucky one!! I have a desk 'pile' that emits a whispered no no no whenever I arrive with more stuff (actually maybe that's my wallet saying that) and you're so organised, all those boxes...

My workspace is ALWAYS untidy!!! but I say that if it's tidy,it's not creating!!!makes me feel better evertime.

I LOVE your space Carole. I maintain that if it's not out then you can't see what you have. I have the predicament that when we moved to this house, my husband tried very hard to make me tidy and bought me 3 extra cupboards to put my stuff in. Now I have to search for everything I need because it's in boxes in cupboards. I have no workspace, so spill out the door into the next bedroom for all my material andd have to do my lay outs and wet work on my kitchen bench. DH often says he hopes he has not sequins, beads or paint in his dinner.

Oh this is tidy compared to mine! Mine is a danger zone! I've even taped a piece of Caution tape, swiped from some constuction site somewhere, to my art room door! :D
