from a pile of old metal buttons,
there is a passing interest
to sort through them,
to feel what they are made of
to think about where they have come from
wonder about what kind of garment they were on
but
there's always a special one,
one you want to keep,
one you weren't expecting
what a lovely surprise!

A nice surprise this morning was a phone call from my mom.
These buttons are a stunning display in black and white. They would make very nice note cards!

One nice surprise (not including watching the birds bath in the angel fountain) was in my mailbox...I am in a collage box round robin, really exciting and fun!

A nice surprise, receiving an old cream pure wool blanket from a friend, yes, she had told me about it, but I didn't realise it was so big! I was expectiing a baby blanket, it's a single bed size.. I will dye it using natural dyes and leaf imprints.. mmmm another surprise when I unwrap the bundle..
Those buttons are goreous, is the heart one made from clay?
