hardship and suffering....

There is nothing like a little bit of motivation to spur you on in times of hardship and suffering.

I thought that dangling the chocolate bar from a length of string in front of the treadmill really wasn't working for me.

Especially after my last nights torturous session slogging it out for 30 mins at an extremely fast pace, I somehow managed to find enough energy to make it to the fridge where I drank a litre of lemonade to quench the thirst, and grabbed a hand full of chocolate biscuits to give me the energy to cook tea!

I thought it was perhaps time to try a different tactic!

Perhaps I will try a slightly different form of motivation in the form of the one and only Oliver Reed!

Oh my, and let me tell you this, I've got a bit of a thing for the man who had two goals in life.
1. drink every bar dry
2. shag every woman he could

And just as I thought, I don't need the treadmill any longer.
Nope, each time I stare at those eyes my heart rate increases!!
Works better than chocolate :)

He's right up there beside my Colin (oh and my Dennis!)

The treadmill is glaring at me! - I can hear it!!!

Who motivates you?

Our treadmill is in the room where we keep the freezer so therefore it can't glare at me too much...out of sight means out of mind and I can totally ignore it for months on end. Hmmm....maybe I should take a page out of your book and put up a picture of Sean Connery!!

He was certainly a hunk when he was young and non-alcoholic wasn't he?

I think chocolate is more reliable!!!

hahah lol...you crack me up!!! I was laughing outloud!!! I do love this actor though...
nothing motivates me to get a treadmill though,,,not him or chocolate:))) I used to be a fitness freak ,,,everyday jogging and beating my body for 2 hrs a day or so....then I had a back injury and have not felt motivated since then,,,I DO workout but it is soooooo grueling and BORING that I drive myself nuts. Good for you that you jump on that contraption everyday...if hanging a foto of Oliver in front of you works,,,go for it girl!!!! I´d need a room full of live Chippendale dancers and,,,oh do you even have those guys over there???? Well I´d need them cheering me on ,,each with a million bucks in thier hands...then maybe I´d jump on a treadmill....:))) You should go out and jog around with your sheep:)

Mmmm, i have this intrinsic motivation for chocolate as for exercise - well my friend having tried just about every exercise known to man I have at the age of fifty something decided that if my creator wanted me to exercise he/she would have given me lycra skin and Reebok feet.

I've thought about hanging a bikini inside the fridge so that everytime I open the door I'm motivated to shut it again without eating anything!

Funny funny lady. Sugar, sugar and chocolate is wonderful but the treadmill is good for the body.

Enjoy your Sunday. Dogwood

I must admit he was a handsome devil in his day, I hadn't really noticed before. Perhaps you should dangle a photo of Ollie in front of the treadmill. Arn't treadmills only a January thing?

Have a lovely week :o)

I haven't thought of Oliver Reed for years. Did you see the movie The Trap? He starred with Rita Tushingham. When we lived in england we used sing the title song while we were riding our bikes in the country. Thanks for the memories! I loved the video of your baby lambs too.

So funny Carole! I had my treadmill in the comptuer room staring at my back all the time, making me feel guilty and ashamed. But I took care of that...I sold the darn thing! ;-) SO there was nothing to motivate me enough to get on that hateful machine with allit's glaring and staring. I suppose I'm hopeless. Keep up the good work and tread a few mills for me.

Great pictures of the Bad Boy! I loved him in the Three Musketeers!

Being that my studio is upstairs and our only telephone extentions are downstairs, I "exercise" when the phone rings. heehee.

Oh he was so dark and brooding wasn't he - though one of my favourite of his films is Hannible Brooks - taking the elephant across the alps when the zoo was bombed. He plays his character sweetly.
I lost weight recently but have had a horrible cold & as they say, " feed a cold ... " I'm sure I've put it all back on !!!
