A quick trip to Rotorua

On the weekend I decided to drive up to Rotorua to meet up with family who were visiting Rotorua too.

The weekend passed in a blur, but I remember the log cabins we stayed in
with their moss and lichen covered roofs.

And I remember the plop of the boiling mud as it made interesting patterns in the mud pools. I could have watched them for ages, even tho the smell of sulphur was pretty darn strong!

But most of all I remember having a number of leisurely soaks in one of these hot thermal pools.

Heavenly!
Did you manage to do anything heavenly this weekend??

Carole :)

those chalets look fantastic and as for the hot pools.....
We too had a lovely weekend away with friends at Waipukurau who wined and dined us with great conversation. Today we had a "devonshire lunch" at a beautiful up market b and b then travelled home on roads that were new to us seeing lovely scenery and historic old homesteads.

Well, I went for a heavenly walk with my Honey Bear and made a lovely soup to eat while listening to our favorite Football team.

Oh how that brings back happy memories of our six week tour of NZ and a week spent in Rotorua. The smells, the fabulous steaming bubbling pools, the sunshine, the magical mystery places we found off the beaten track, getting lost, and so much more. Glad you had a fabulous treat of a break

I remember staying in the first one of those log cabins one year. Cosy and the kids loved it. Was hoping to go to Rotorua this weekend coming but Miss 15 did not to do the Trampoline Competition there, so staying home instead

Unfortunately weekend just been I was home sick so nothing done :(

Hi Andy, there is no way to contact you, so I'm hoping you pop back here and read this.

No these photos were taken at the camp ground. They had lovely thermal pools and their own mud pools. It was a lovely stay, and everything was lovely and clean.
