Okay, so you do have odd collections, but...

...do you have a collection as weird as this one? I doubt it. Why on earth I would be collecting all the old plastic cotton reels I have no idea.
I chucked them out!!
How liberating! haha

That made me LOL! I've been there. And if I open my eyes and look around, I'm still there. Not with plastic spools, don't think I've ever saved them, but with other totally useless things. And still feel that twinge when I throw them out. And yes, I have found a use for some of them a week after they were tossed.

Because you were hoping they would turn into wooden ones overnight maybe.

I'd be willing to bet that within the week you will think of something absolutely astounding that you could have done with them! We won't mention the wooden ones I threw out after keeping them for absolutely eons....now how I wish I still had them!!

I save wooden ones...hope you don't find a use for them now that's you've tossed them...isn't usually about two weeks when you find a purpose for something you've gotten rid of! hah!

I've been there too...After I checkend them out I startend another: empty boxes. Small, a bit bigger, another size, in different colors.... I wantend to make journalbooklets to keep in them. NOS them are gone and yes, the next week I needed them badly!,,,

I give my empty spools to husband who stores them in his shed just in case something needs little wheels or something????

What fun. You see a collection to throw, I see a valuable collection of prospective printing blocks. Some can be used singly, others taped together to create individual effects. :)

I have several of these spools in different sizes that I use for painting circles on fabric and paper. I love using old pieces of junk for surface design.

ON NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOoo

You didn't did you. I am weeping! All that altered art you could have used them for. Woe, woe, and thrice woe.

i tend to gravitate towards scrap quilts and i save the itty bittiest scraps imaginable. It really pathetic.
my really really weird addiction to saving is.......
pistachio shells....
i eat alot of the stupid things, and save the shells. I figure maybe for ....i really have no idea. it drives my husband nuts. I have a HUGE bag of them. I was thinking they would look good as ground cover for landscaping. But it would kill me to leave them if we move.

Oh wow, so I'm not the only one who does this, hooray.
Not sure why I am saving them. I thought I might use them to store ribbons on. After reading some suggested uses in the comments, I think I will hold onto my collection a little longer.
