Ok, replacement block finished, what do you think?

Well, here it is, what do you think? I am pleased with it, it is simple and in keeping with the other blocks. I think it fits much better than the large pot.
I was talking to the lady who owns Cherry Pie Quilt Patch, the store I'm doing the block of the month thru. She said last time they ran this BOM, 50% didn't like the pots (there's 2 of them in the quilt top), and 50% did.

Of course while I was there, I made a small purchase, (surprise, surprise! lol) All fat 1/10ths or fat 1/8ths

I thought the fabric on the left, (above) might be nice to embroider on. And then I found these 2, the nicest shade of pale blue! I'm not normally into blue, but these were delicious!

Carole, I think you have done a fantastic job on your replacement block. I love it. You have keep with the theme and now you have made the quilt a little more of your own creation. Well done

Ahh, I have the patterns for this quilt at home but it looks like so much more I don't know where to start.Did you do the embroidery in small pieces first or sew the borders on then embroider?

Thanks Darlene!
Debbi, I was only able to pick up the first 4 blocks, will be able to pick up 2 more next month. I cut out all the pieces and then sewed them all together, and then traced the patterns and then I just get them out and do some stitching when I get time. So far I've completed block 1 and 3.

Nice replacement idea Carole, as Darlene said you have stayed with the theme of the quilt and the main thing is YOU are happy with it.

I agree - balance is much better than with the pot - pot itself is quite nice though - put a little border on, quilt it - it would make a nice little mini...

I liked the dimensions of the pot block, but I agree with you that the design looked "heavy". The bird house is very sweet- looks like an embroidered tea towel or pillow slip.

Your "found" hinged canvas is wonderful! I love the crackle! Intentional or age?

I like the new block...I've gone and looked at the past posts to catch up. The pot was a little heavy...tho I like it. Will there be more blocks?
