buttons

Hunting for something to add to my stitchery, I found some old fabric
covered buttons of my grandmothers.

Don't you think it fits perfectly? It could have been made specially!

What is it about buttons that makes them so desirable?

Your button fits perfectly! Buttons are fabulous little treasures that are very tactile and bring so much pleasure - I'm a button fanatic and have recently been accepted as a Button Floozie!

Have a great day!

Buttons - I love their sizes, their shapes, their colours, the fact that they are little in comparison to everything else around them, and the memories! Beautiful memories of stitching buttons on scraps of cloth at Nana's when I was 5 ,6 etc, making patterns on the table, choosing new buttons to go on the knitted cardigans and jumpers our Aunt knitted for us when we were kids....*bliss*

Lovely Carole and it's so true ... buttons have this magnetism and charm!
I just bought some old glass buttons on original cards ... knowing how silly that was ... how can I ever take them OFF the cards. I think I will at some point. It felt nice to just 'rescue' them for the moment!

I love buttons, always on the hunt for them. Not sure if I will use them but love having them sitting around.

I have a friend in Melbourne who owns a button covering business and I love going to see her.
I love collecting all the ones that didn't work out properly.I shudder to think howmany covered buttons that get thrown out at op-shops when they cut them off garments that they can't sell.
Such a waste :-((

These buttons are a perfect addition to your work. I love buttons too. For me, I'm taken back to rainy afternoons, my sister and I going through Mom's button box, with Mom in the kitchen baking cookies. I think every button lover has a great button memory.

On a side note, I'm one of the newest Button Floozies. Yeah!

Your button is a great addition to your work. I think we all like buttons so much because of the variety-color, materials, shapes, etc. and the versatility in ways of using them.
