Here it is on the eve of yet another weekend and I haven't even caught up with the last one!
There was so much on in Palmerston North of the textilely fabricy nature that it was a little overwhelming!
First up my friend Christine and I put on a brave face and headed into the Fabric-a-brac sale.

I'd seen it advertised last year on other blogs, but this was a first time in PN.
It was a fabulous mix of new and vintage fabric and haberdashery items.
Yours for the finding.

The event was raising money for our local hospice and I believe they raised just under $1000, so well done Palmy! I also saw the fabulous Rosemary McLeod who popped in briefly in the morning, she has one of the largest private collections of linen and textiles in NZ.
Of course you know that I'd come away with some small purchase didn't you?

These doilies were all very tiny, and I'm sure will find there way into a journal!
All have been laundered and stored for now.
Christine found some lovely cottons to use in a quilt she was making,
so we both left very pleased with our bargains, and we can't wait for next years event!
Then we headed to the local quilting club's exhibition....

Oh, lucky you Carole - sounds wonderful and love your doilies - can't have too many! Hope you have fun with them.
Barbara :)
We have a similar event here.
I saw a few quilts still in the shop windows where my sister and I went for coffee ( near George St corner of the square ) That was bad timing to have missed the Quilt Show.I didn't eveb get to look in the Esplande which I wanted to do.
Another time I guess.
Ha! I made it there too...but way too late...still, it didn't stop me from scoring some awesome stuff too! And OH, you saw Rosemary McLeod! WOWZA!!
What a great fundraising idea your Hospice came up with - I hope someone does the same here!
You scored some lovely bits for your art work.
Ooh I think I heard fabric ripping - it was in the south - am I right?!!
Take care and
have a lovely weekend
Hi, I was just checking my friends blog here in England and I came across yours. It pulled at a few heart strings, love Palmy, tried to move out there a few years back, but too many ties to hold me here. Went to the symposium when it was held in Palmy 2 years ago, loved every moment of my stay.
Like what you have been doing with the cards.
Sounds absolutely wonderful - an entire weekend of fibre-y goodness? My idea of heaven!
Love the clever name of the event! Looks like a fun "girlfriends" outing. Wish I could have gone with you!
oooh lots of lovelies...
I'm feeling rather envious! looks fab!
