picking roses

Wow, a whole month has gone since I was here last. I really need to get my act together.

I have been busy trying to loose some weight. As you will know, it takes dedication and commitment and above all time. I've been walking twice a week and attending exercise classes twice a week. I'm told the endorphins I get from doing all this exercise will carry me through and help me feel great and give me more energy. I'm wondering if it's possible to overdose on exercise? All I want to do is eat chocolate and sleep!! It's going to be a long road......

We have also decided to sell the Madness and Mess home and that has meant spring cleaning from top to toe. Of course I've had to fit this in between sleeping and eating chocolate so it's cutting into my creative time.

However, I did slip unnoticed into my sewing room this morning and you might get to see what I've been up to....

Back soon,
Carole

Wow, selling the 'Madness & Mess' home. That's a huge decision, leaving your gorgeous driveway of daffodils and the sheep. Will you go onto more land or be like many of us and downsize? Good luck with the weight. This time last year I was on the losing thing, this year it's the opposite ;-/
take it easy, hugs

Welcome back! It takes a few weeks to stop the cravings for chocolate and that sense of 'starvation' - ask me how I know, LOL! You are taking on a lot of change all at once with a possible sale thrown into the mix, so be gentle on yourself. Just cut down meal sizes and keep moving - it helps get you there. Packing and unpacking will remove kilos too ... cheers xo

Hope your back feels better soon. All the work involved in selling up and moving on must surely help with the weight loss as well as the walking - good luck with that. Can't wait to see what you've been making - your work is always so inspiring.

Congratulations on your fitness regime - what a coincidence that I too have been on a 'mission' to lose some weight this past month - did you have a sneak peek and see my striding around our little village at 7.30am every cold, misty, and wet morning, for a couple of miles before buying the daily papers for my husband and next door neighbour? Have you watched me 'fasting' a couple of days a week wondering what I can eat on those days for 500 calories - quite a lot actually, I've got quite inventive with veggies!

And please don't tell me you spied on my weighing myself every morning - those sighs when I didn't lose and ounce and the sheer joy when I lost 2lb over a week - and I've now lost a whole stone! It's not hard the way I have been doing it - but alas - the two squares of plain chocolate have had to be resisted each day sigh - but oh the joy of finding clothes in the back to my wardrobe that I can slip into, and the little modest smile on my thinner face when people have noticed

Keep up the good work - it's worth it. And at least it's your summer time and you can eat all those lovely summer meals, whereas here it's cold and wet and miserable so I have to comfort myself with the roasted summer veggies which I've frozen. Can't wait to see what you have created inbetween those exercise classes.

Have a great weekend

Chocolate and sleep fixes almost anything ! Dont envy the clearing out with selling a home, we just did some renos and that was enough, 20 years of stuff to move- no way!! Keep up the good work, imagine Colin is just running ahead of you :)

Howdy stranger...from Bangkok! How's life? Busy I see! Already done the house thing; eternally on the diet thing, lol! I'm swinging on by all my bestest blog buddy blogs (I've just resurrected mine after a long hiatus). Hope everything goes well for you both. Moving house is up there on the stress barometer.

Oh bother-and I thought we would spend the whole day eating chocolates.
Now I understand why we will be doing a lot of walking as well :-((

Good luck with the exercising and the moving homes. Both of those jobs are really time consuming. I hope that you can get in some creative time as well.

I don't envy you the cleaning up to move or all the peopl in your house that it involves. Good Luck. try brushing your teeth straight after a meal....I find it stops me wanting to pick between meals. Also Focus on what you are allowed to eat not the other way around.

Wondering what your plans are with your move?
