Amazing!

Late yesterday afternoon I wandered outside with a cuppa, it had been a fabulous sunny day, clear blue sky, and now the sun was slowly slipping out of the sky. There was no heat left in it, and then I noticed the grass .....

The paddocks were all covered in wisps of spider web, well they appeared to spider webs, thousands of them, as tho they had blown in the wind. They blanketed the grass glittering in the sun. Truly amazing.

Buddy the Boss came out to watch me taking pics.

By the time I stood up I had these draped over me, they were all over the clothes line and the clothes. If I didn't think they were amazing I would think it was darn spooky! LOL

What happens in your backyard? Take your camera and go look!

We often get these cobwebs in the autumn and they look beautiful. I know them as gossamer. My backyard has baby birds in it at the moment and the occasional young frog :)

So what IS that? Is it from spiders? Or maybe from some flying insect? I neeeeed to know! My backyard? hmmmm...mosquitoes and lots of flowers...an occasional toad!

stunning photos, they almost look altered, surreal and fantastic!
we have lots of birds and some bunnies in our backyard, and lots of flowers
I tried to photograph a spider web that had raindrops clinging to it, but doing it single handed I only got one pic before the web got stuck to the cushion I was holding for contrast = drat!
I'm going back for another lookie look at your photos and cute kitty kat!

The webs are wonderful. I also was amazed to see this, in the Netherlands. I also made a photo. You can see it here: http://www.corryna.nl/Images/Fotografie/Annermoeras_0107.jpg

I am fond of cats. This cat is beautiful and sits as an important politicus or so :-).

I've seen webs like this too! I figure that since spiders leave a web line as they walk (perpetual safety harness) that the gossamer affect on the grass is from a lot of strolling spiders during the night. haha

Haven't been out in my back yard. I am avoiding my neglected garden (if I don't see it, I won't feel guilty about it remaining unplanted)!
