Beach landscape

I made this accidental landscape last night. It is slightly smaller than an A4 sheet of paper, (the inside scene is only 5x7"). I used a piece of wool for the breaking wave, and machine wrapped some brown wool to use as old fence posts. Then I attached a piece of beading wire to the fence posts. I really like the wavy sashing/boarder edge, it's really effective. Instead of binding the edge I over sewed it and edged it with thick blue wool to add extra texture. I like the way that these can be quite small, you can finish them quickly and they would make nice gifts!

Hahaha, how do you 'accidentally' quilt? I could have a million accidents and none of them would look like this. You sure are a prolific quilter. Do you have a gigantic stash somewhere taking up a whole spare bedroom? Does your man sigh when you say "I'll only be a few minutes - PROMISE!" outside the fabric store. Hehehe, you are cute.

Ummm, yes well it used to be a spare bedroom! Since my daughter left home I've got rid of the bed, and squeezed 3 tables in there plus a bookshelf. Mmmmm, just need some shelves now, I could utilise the walls more!
Now, my sweet, patient, understanding man comes first you understand. And I know he has a love of fine coffee and if the food is also tempting it's better! Soooo, I find him a good cafe, a paper, and HEY PRESTO! That gives me at least an hour of quality shopping!!!

Hello Carole,

I just found your blog today. I enjoy looking at all your pictures and your accidental landscapes. Love the one with the beach and fence. I also love how you use incorporate wool into the landscape. Beautiful. Judy from Western Michigan. Lovely blog.
